NOVEMBER GROUPS

 

ACTING OUT AGAIN

As every Monday we will follow the usual dynamics.
I hope you have studied all the phrases of situation 1 of unit 2.

REHEARSAL IN SMALL GROUPS
First you have 10 minutes to do the theatrical rehearsal.
You go out in the groups of 4, except a group that will be of 2.
All the members of each group  must practice all the sentences.
Please help each other with the pronunciation. This way the performances are going to be much better. Remember that it is a cooperative activity.

PERFORMANCES
After these 10 minutes practicing in the small groups
you come back to the class and you will do the performances in couples
I will say who are the couples.

IMPORTANT
Remember to make somewhat comic characters in some feature.
For example: you can be very shy, nervous, sympathetic, unfriendly, angry, self-important, scared, happy ... 

HOW TO DO IT WELL
You know that you have little time. Take advantage of it well.
Work hard and seriously.

Situation 1 – 5^th of November                                   Translation

A: Do you go to high school?
B: Yes, I do.
A: What high school do you go to?
B: I go to Gavina School.
A: Do you like it?
B: Oh, yes, I really like it.
A: Why do you like it?
B: Because it has great teachers.
A: What else?
B: I like all my classmates, too.

Situation 2 – 12^th of November                          Translation

A: What do you need for school?
B: I need pencils.
A: Anything else?
B: I need a notebook.
A: Do you need a pen?
B: No. I already have a pen.
A: Do you need a calculator?
B: No. The teacher doesn't permit calculators.
A: How about a dictionary?
B: No, we have a big dictionary in the classroom.
A: Well, I guess that's it.
B: Yes, that's all I need for now.

 

Situation 3 – 19^th of November                          Translation

A: How good is your math?
B: I can add two and two.
A: So you're not very good at math?
B: I'm terrible at math.
A: Well, I need some help.
B: With what?
A: I'm taking a math course in school.
B: Well, you should ask your teacher or your classmates for help.
A: I can't do that.
B: Why not?
A: They might think I'm stupid.
B: They're not going to think that! They'll be glad to help you.

Situation 4 – 26^th of November                          Translation

A. Are we going to the canteen?
B. Yes please, I’m very hungry.
A. What is there today for lunch?
B. No idea, clean the black board, and let’s go.
A. Ok. (…)   Maths is very tough, isn't it?
B. Oh yes, but the science teacher gives a lot of homework.
A. What do you think about our new principal?
B. I think she is great.
